The birthplace of Labradors is the island of Newfoundland. Exact information about the time of the birth of the breed, or at least about the origin of the name, has not been preserved. The original purpose of the Labrador was in the most diverse assistance to fishermen. These dogs were used both for catching weakened fish and for pulling boats onto land. At the beginning of the 19th century, the first Labradors came to England, where local breeders liked it.
