The setter has a long, hard, shiny coat. On the limbs and body, the hair is longer, and the head and muzzle are shorter. The standard color is assumed to be mahogany with a golden sheen. Black spots and blotches are not permitted, while white patches on the face, chest, neck and fingers are acceptable.
