An Akbash is a large dog breed that originated in Turkey. They were traditionally used as livestock guardians, but have become popular as family pets in recent years. These dogs have a distinctive white coat and are known for their loyalty, protectiveness, and independence.

– Akbash dogs are large
Akbash dogs are one of the largest dog breeds, with adult males weighing between 90 and 140 pounds and standing between 28 and 34 inches tall at the shoulder. Females are slightly smaller, but still quite substantial. It is important to consider whether you have the physical ability to handle such a large dog.
– They need plenty of outdoor space
Due to their size, Akbash dogs require a lot of space to move around. They are not well-suited to apartment living, as they need access to a large yard or pasture to run and play. This makes them an ideal choice for people with large properties or who live in rural areas. If you live in a small home or urban area, an Akbash may not be the right choice for you.
