14 Reasons English Pointers Are Not The Friendly Dogs Everyone Says They Are

English Pointers (or simply pointers as they are classified by the AKC) are gun dogs named for the characteristic posture they take when they smell prey. They stand motionless, head down, their nose directed towards the prey; the tail is kept horizontally level with the head and back. One paw is raised and bent at the wrist. The direction the dog is pointing leads the hunter towards the prey.

This breed will be an ideal choice for those who like confident and balanced dogs with courage and endurance.
