Corgi – the oldest breed of dog in the British Isles, comes from Wales, an ancient Celtic region, home of the legends of King Arthur, the wizard Merlin and the Knights of the Round Table. The origin of the breed is shrouded in legends. He is associated with the “little people”, the fairies – the elves and fairies of the British Isles. According to Welsh belief, elves use corgi as mounts and draft animals. On the backs of many corgis, you can still see the “traces” of this harness – the outline of the saddle on the back and the bridle on the muzzle.
