The Shih Tzu is a breed whose name is the exact opposite of all its essence. “Little Lion” – that’s what the name of the breed literally means when translated into Russian, although this dog has nothing to do with a lion. However, this name was given by Buddhist monks, and some even say that the Dalai Lama himself in the 17th century, because the Shih Tzu was widely used in Tibet as a guard dog, including in monasteries.
