The Golden Retriever or Golden Retriever appeared in the British Isles around the end of the 19th century. Most likely, this breed was obtained by crossing the Irish Setter, Labrador Retriever, and the water tweed spaniel, which is now extinct. Also, an admixture of blood from other spaniels, bloodhound, and Newfoundland is not excluded. For a long time, this breed was considered a type of golden straight-haired retriever, but in the end, it was still recognized as a separate breed.
