Plants delight us in the home, garden, and balcony. But be careful: some species can be dangerous for animals and humans. We have compiled a list of plants that are considered poisonous and dangerous for rabbits for you.

That rabbits instinctively avoid inedible and poisonous plants is not always true. You can only be safe if you ban plants that are poisonous to rabbits and other animals from your home, garden, and balcony. Our list will help you with that.

Symptoms of rabbit poisoning

The following symptoms indicate poisoning in your rabbit. If you notice such symptoms, you should immediately consult a veterinarian:

• restlessness
• Paralysis, cramps, tremors
• circulatory problems, balance disorders
• cardiac arrhythmias
• fever
• increased thirst

Some of the plants listed here are poisonous to rabbits, but are spurned by them and are therefore considered harmless in the garden. These include, for example, peonies or hydrangeas. If you want to be on the safe side, however, leave out the plants altogether or only plant them in a place inaccessible to rabbits.
