Along the way, Odysseus and his men encounter numerous trials and tribulations, including the wrath of the sea god Poseidon, who seeks revenge against Odysseus for blinding his son.
One of the most intriguing and memorable episodes in The Odyssey is the encounter between Odysseus and Circe, a powerful sorceress who transforms his men into pigs. This event raises many questions: who was Circe, and why did she transform Odysseus’ sailors into animals? What was the source of her power, and how was Odysseus able to overcome her magic?
