14 Books Every Portuguese Water Dog Owner Should Read

The growth of the male is 50-55 cm on the shoulder; the female is smaller – from 45 to 50 cm. The body is muscular and shaped for work. The head is longer than the muzzle, lop-eared. Waterdogs usually mature between 1 and 2 years of age, although they reach their full size at about 6-8 months.

The Portuguese Water Dog has two types of coat. One of them is short curly and the other is wavy with a little sheen. These dogs do not have an undercoat and do not shed. They are clipped either “under the lion” (the muzzle and back of the body are clipped), or “under the retriever” (uniform clipping of the coat by about an inch). The coat color is black or brown, or various shades of brown. There are also combinations of black or brown and white. Dogs with black, white or black and white colour have bluish skin.

Just keep reading and find a perfect book for yourself.
