Cocker Spaniels first became known at the beginning of the 20th century, and work on their breeding began in the 1880s. From the name of the breed, it is clear that England is the homeland of the English cockers. Often, however, English Cocker Spaniels are confused with their American counterparts - these breeds are similar but somewhat different in the exterior.
