14 Books Every Jack Russell Dog Owner Should Read

Jack Russell is a real service terrier. The breed gets its name from the Reverend Jack Russell, who bred one of the most advanced fox hunting terriers in England. The Jack Russell Terrier should have chased the fox out of the hole with his incessant barking, but he shouldn’t have killed it. Since its inception in the early 19th century, the Jack Russell Terrier has been bred strictly for hunting.

Due to the genetic diversity of this breed, there are some variations in the Jack Russell Terrier standard. Moreover, disagreement over the length of the legs of these dogs led to the fact that in England they were divided into two separate breeds: the long-legged variety was called the “Parson Jack Russell Terrier”, and the short-legged one was simply called the Jack Russell Terrier.
