Daily Grooming in Chipmunks

Cleaning the enclosure every few weeks is not enough. Caring for a chipmunk also includes inspecting the enclosure closely every day.

So part of your daily chores is to clean the drinking vessels and food bowls with warm water every day and then fill them up with fresh food and water. The sleeping cottages must also be checked daily. Although chipmunks actually keep these clean by themselves, there are also animals that do not follow this rule and deposit their feces in the house.

It is also important to check whether the squirrel has stored fruit and vegetables in a house. This must be removed immediately to prevent mold growth. Stored seeds, on the other hand, can be left in the house as long as they are not contaminated. It is part of the normal behavior of a chipmunk to create food depots. It is also important to check that all climbing branches are secure in order to avoid accidents. Of course, this also applies to all other objects within the enclosure.
