Story
The small and quite compact French bulldog lives through times in the past when it is rushed to other dogs or even bulls. At the end of the 19th century, it was in the luggage of English weavers and lace makers on their way to new jobs in France. Here, among other things, decimating rats and carrying small loads determine their everyday life.
Because of her looks, she quickly makes friends even in higher social classes. The appearance of the modern French bulldog distinguishes crossbreeds from terriers and pugs: the short, twisted tail, protruding eyes at nose level, and ears reminiscent of bats.

French Bulldog Character & Temperament

The short hair is fine and glossy. The animal’s underbelly, however, has very little of it, so caution is advised when lingering on the cold ground. Colds can be avoided in this way. In the summer it is the sun that can take a toll on the Frenchman with the conspicuous underbite.
In general, choosing a trustworthy breeder is extremely important. Otherwise, respiratory and heart problems, as well as impairments of the bone structure, can occur as a result of incorrect breeding weighting and impair the quality of life of the dog.
Grooming
Proper care includes cleaning the French bulldog’s skin folds to prevent inflammation. The coat itself is adequately groomed with daily brushing. In addition, rubbing with a dog glove brings owner and dog closer together, this procedure also preserves the shine of the hair.
Coat color varies. Fawn, many shades of red, black tabby or tabby, the clearly piebald variants, and the almost white fur coat show the wide range. The French bulldog’s mimic talent and bold nature quickly win the hearts of dog lovers. It is no coincidence that she is given nicknames such as clown, goblin, or wisp.
Attitude
The living environment is of secondary importance for the small dog. He is just as content and calm in the small city apartment as he is out in the country. Only unrestricted access to people must be given – the French bulldog needs contact.
They have another pleasant characteristic in common with the bulky dog types: French bulldogs are not barkers. With all the fun, education is mandatory! If the animal lacks leadership, the Frenchman fills the gap at his own discretion and not always to the delight of the two-legged pack members.
A French Bulldog can be stubborn and has a mind of its own. However, the dog owner does not have to be an expert to make them a pleasant company and companion dog. His upbringing starts early and is consistent and sensitive.
She uses the dog’s urge to play. The daily routine allows the animal longer walks at a moderate pace, mentally demanding work, and plenty of time to lounge around. The regular exchange with other puppies helps the French bulldog to better assess its true size at an early stage.
