Temperament & Character
Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs are always up for a game or work. They are very active dogs, similar to the energetic American Bulldog. Alert and confident, the dog is wary of strangers. He can show aggressive behavior towards strange dogs. As an Alapahas owner, you must be willing to exercise the dog in a meaningful way.
Grooming
Skin care is pretty easy. Occasional brushing of the coat and now and then a bath.
Education
The Alapaha has a very strong protective instinct. It is therefore absolutely necessary to establish the pack order at an early stage. If you make mistakes in training, the dog will take control. This dog breed requires a strong and experienced pack leader.

The Alapaha is descended from the English bulldogs that were brought to America from Britain in the 18th century. The breed was then known as the “plantation dog” and was kept for its guarding qualities. The dogs were also used to drive cattle.
